Taking Pictures in the Museum

Can I take pictures in the exhibits? 

  • Everyone entering the exhibits must have a ticket to the relevant exhibit, including any photographers.
  • Please be courteous to other guests enjoying the exhibits.
  • Flash photography is only allowed in the rainforest of the Cockrell Butterfly Center and the Grand Hall of the Hermann Park Location. Flash photography is strictly prohibited in all other exhibits.
  • Tripods and selfie sticks are prohibited at all HMNS locations. 
Can I arrange for a private or professional photo shoot in the museum?
  • Please contact ldavidson@hmns.org for any inquiries concerning photography/videography inside the Cockrell Butterfly Center intended for professional use.
  • For press and commercial photo shoots in the rest of the museum, please contact the Public Relations department using media@hmns.org
