- I heard you guys recently underwent some renovations. What new changes should we expect to see?
- Yes, we reopened in March 2021, after a 2-year hiatus. During the renovation, the exhibit area and Expedition Center were updated, the domes and observation deck were upgraded, and new equipment was purchased.
- We now offer a combination of viewing through telescope eyepieces, and camera-assisted viewing (cameras connected to the eyepiece, which allows for clearer images and deeper in space.)
- Is the Planetarium at the George currently running?
- We do not have any current plans to offer it to the public.
- We offer this on a limited basis to field trips. Inquiries can be sent to observatory@hmns.org or kself@hmns.org.
- What else do you offer at the George Observatory?
- We also offer missions in the Expedition Center, field trips, astronomy classes, badges on demand, private stargazing nights during the week – all with advance booking and payment. Inquiries can be sent to observatory@hmns.org or kself@hmns.org
