Hi [PATRON’S NAME]!

Thank you for your interest in our summer camp program!

We can absolutely make arrangements and provide an ASL interpreter for your camper at summer camp. We generally ask for at least two weeks’ notice or more, so we can have the interpreter conference with your camper’s teacher ahead of time. This allows the interpreter to be prepared in advance with the terminology of the camp curriculum. Once you decide on a specific week and camp topic, please let us know as early as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.

A few questions that will help with scheduling the interpreter:

Is your camper ok working with written instruction and/or closed captioning in English?

Are you planning to utilize Before or After Camp services?

We will plan to schedule the interpreter for the full day, of course, but we want to know if we need to prepare the interpreter to translate Power Point slides, handouts, and/or videos. Your answers will help in communicating with the interpretation agency's questions and ensuring that your camper has the best time in camp with us!

Thank you,

[YOUR NAME]
